In order to determine the date of Israel's exit from Egypt, it must be calculated backwards, beginning at the time when the Persian king Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon. This event is well known in both Tanah and secular history, and its history is indisputable. Historians say that the Med and Persian forces under the command of Cyrus captured the city of Babylon in BC. They admit that it was in the year 539.

This event is recorded in Tanah at Daniel 5:30. Various ancient historians (Diodoros, Africanus, Eusebios, Ptolemy and Babylon tablets) Cyrus' Babylon in BC. He agrees that he seized it in 539. Although the Nabonidus Chronicle does not indicate the year of the fall of the city, it does indicate the month and day. Thus, the fall of Babylon, according to the Julian calendar BC October 11, 539. or  it is dated October 5, 539, according to the Gregorian calendar.

 

Cyrus, in the first year of his reign, that is, BC. The Jews were released by an edict issued before the spring of 537. In Ezra 3: 1, it is recorded that the Israelites returned to Jerusalem in the seventh month of tishri (September-October). Thus, the date when the Jews resumed their residence in Jerusalem is BC. It is the autumn of 537.

 

This date marks the end of a previously announced period. B.C. 537 was the end of the "seventy-year-old" era in which the Promised Land would be "ruined." (Jeremiah [Yirmeyahu] 25:11, 12; 29:10). Knowing these words very well, Daniel turned to God and asked for help as the end of the "seventy-year" period approached (Daniel 9: 1-3). "Seventy years" BC. Since it ended in the autumn of 537 BC. It should have started in the fall of 607.
